Karl Chase Joins Capella Hotels and Resorts as Director of Sales and Marketing for Capella Telluride, the Brand's First U.S. Destination

TELLURIDE, CO - Capella Hotels and Resorts has appointed Karl Chase as director of sales and marketing for Capella Telluride, Colorado's much-anticipated luxury hotel and residential property set to debut in spring 2009.

"Karl has demonstrated superb leadership in successful sales and marketing efforts for world-class destinations here in the U.S., and we are pleased to have him put his skills to work on behalf of Capella Telluride," said Capella Hotels and Resorts vice president of sales, Kit Pappas. "Following our successful launch in Europe," he continued, "Capella Telluride will be our U.S. debut, and Karl's leadership will be invaluable as we introduce the Capella experience stateside."

Before joining Capella Telluride, Chase held senior sales positions at some of Chicago's most renowned hotels. These included Hotel 71, where Chase oversaw all sales efforts as associate director of sales, and The Peninsula Chicago, where he served as business travel sales manager.

An outdoor enthusiast, Chase studied earth science and chemistry at Western Michigan University. His love for sports will be well matched by Telluride's bountiful recreation options, and Capella Telluride’s superb ski-in/ski-out location at the center of Mountain Village. The resort will consist of 100 hotel guest rooms and 60 condominium suites, with Capella's renowned services available to both hotel guests and residential owners.
